Victor Papanek was an Austrian-American designer and educator known for his ecologically designed products and infrastructures. Papenek studied under Frank Lloyd Wright at the beginning of his career and authored several publications including The Green Imperative, Design for Human Scale, and Design for the Real World: Human Ecology and Social Change. He worked in collaboration with UNESCO and World Health Organization for a series of socially responsible design projects. Papanek died in 1998 in Lawrence, KS.
