Arnold Newman was an American photographer known for his environmental portraits and still life images. Newman photographed many popular celebrities, artists, and politicians, including JFK, Pablo Picasso, Ronald Reagan, and Audrey Hepburn. Newman is considered to be the photographer who shaped environmental photography, a genre of portraiture in which the photographer frames and sets the environment of the shoot around the life and work of the subject. Newman died in 2006 at the age of 88.
Andreas Heumann was a German and Swiss painter and photographer. Heumann studied block-making and printing while on an apprenticeship in Bern and brought this knowledge with him into his later paintings. Heumann worked assignments for many publications, such as Stern, Vogue, Twen, and Harper's Magazine. Heumann died in 2017 at the age of 71.
