Thomas Thwaites is a critical designer, interested in the cultural
impacts of technologies. Thwaites’ work is exhibited frequently and
internationally, and has been acquired by the Victoria & Albert
Museum in London for their permanent collection. He is the
author of two books, The Toaster Project which detailed his attempt
to make an electric toaster from scratch, and Goatman, about his
attempt to take a holiday from being a human by transforming in to
a goat. He is currently a visiting assistant professor at Rhode Island
School of Design.
