Victor Legorreta studied Architecture at the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City. After practicing in firms like Leason Pomeroy & Associates; Martorell, Bohigas y Mackay and Fumihiko Maki, he joined Legorreta Arquitectos in 1991. Presently, Victor Legorreta leads LEGORRETA as CEO and Design Director with the support of two partners, Miguel Almaraz, Project Director, and Miguel Alatriste directing the New Projects and Administrative / Finance Department. He has lectured in numerous universities and conferences in the U.S.A. and Latin America. He has also been a member of several juries, such as Design competitions for the American Institute of Architects (AIA).Among his most relevant projects there are: El Papalote Children’s Museum in Mexico City; Televisa Headquarters in Mexico City; The San Antonio Library, San Antonio, U.S.A.; the American University of Cairo, in Egypt; Carnegie Mellon University, Doha, Qatar;Texas A&M University, Doha Qatar; the BBVA Tower (project in collaboration with Rogers, Stirk, Harbour + Partners) in Mexico City; Highland Hall Residences in Stanford University, California; as well as the latest Four Seasons Hotel in the Mexican Pacific (in collaboration with Taller Mauricio Rocha + Gabriela Carrillo); and many houses throughout Mexico, Europe, USA, Japan and South America.In the year 2007 Victor was awarded as an Honorary Member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). In 2011 he was named Full Member of the National Academy of Architecture, Chapter Valley of Mexico and in 2012 he became President of the Interclub Mexico for the International Architecture Academy (IAA). In 2019 he was honored as Emerit Academic from Mexico’s National Architecture Academy.
