THE VISITING ARTIST & SCHOLAR SERIES
David Dotson is a visual artist with an international exhibition and residency record. His work is a constellation of sculpture, drawing, painting, and photography that connects us to one another through the archaeology of myth. David served in the U.S. Army during the Persian Gulf War and later received both his BFA and MFA in Sculpture from Miami University. He worked as an exhibition artist at the Cincinnati Zoological and Botanical Gardens as well as designing and fabricating custom steel works at Republic Design in Cincinnati, Ohio. David held residencies at Takt in Berlin, Germany and Elsewhere in Greensboro, South Carolina. He also spent time in Mongolia exploring the art and historical sites of the bronze sculptor, Zanabazar. David is currently the Preparator and Building Manager for the Miami University Art Museum in Oxford, Ohio and resides in Milford Township with his family, where he serves as a volunteer firefighter.
